Trevor McArthur holds a Bachelor of Social Work, majoring in Industrial Sociology at Honours Level; A Master of Philosophy specializing in Criminal Justice from the University of Cape Town, and currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology at Stellenbosch University. McArthur’s research interests include: The Sociology of Education, Social and Community development, Causes of Crime and Deviance, The Socio-Political Economy of Southern Africa, HIV/AIDS Education, Applied Leadership theories, and lastly, exploring the construction(s) Masculinities and Femininities. McArthur is passionate about Youth skills and leadership development. He consults (and assists) various NGO’s on developing training material, and works in various educational sectors with further training and development. Furthermore McArthur enjoys music and singing karaoke. He plays more than 5 instruments and loves to ’Jam’ with friends during down-time. He resides in Cape Town, Western Cape, and loves the fact that he has access to the mountain and the sea.
